Which lockout device fits an ABB Tmax MCCB T4 T5 & T6 circuit breaker?

For lockout tagout purposes the ABB Tmax Moulded Case Circuit Breakers can be locked out with the OEM ABB locking device or with an aftermarket device from Master Lock or Brady.

Based on our technical knowledge and firsthand experience of supplying lockout tagout devices we recommend the Brady ‘clamp on’ style of lockout device.

The device has a thumbscrew which when tightened, clamps on to the switch toggle. A cover shield then hinges down exposing a hole to place the safety lockout padlock. When the padlock is in place, the thumbscrew is locked out of view, prevent loosening and removal.

For the T4 and T5 breakers the ELO-065397 lockout is best.

The T6 breaker has a much wider toggle so the larger ELO-065329 lockout is best.

The Master Lock 491B and 493B can also be used on these MCCB’s, but we found these are more suited to breakers with a smaller throw-switch toggle.
