Total Lockout Valve Torque Reducer goes on tour…

Today we’ve been out on the road with our valve torque reducer model. A water modelling research lab in the Oxfordshire countryside have some troublesome gate valves located below ground which can be difficult to fully close off on the valve seat.

The valve torque reducer (and multiplier) from Total Lockout is ideal for such applications. The planetary gearing system is adapted to fit on the valve drive stem and can significantly reduce the amount of effort required to turn the valve. Similarly, the effort applied on the valve lever or wheel is amplified to ensure a good seat. Optional torque limiters are available to ensure no damage is sustained by the valve.

Depending on the selection of either 1:5 or 1:3 torque reduction, either option takes the hard work out of turning valves.
