Description

Plug Valve Lockout is the first lockout device to easily and effectively secure a manually-actuated plug valve with a stem diameter up to 7/8". The base of the lockout device can remain in place once applied, and generally does not interfere with valve activation by wrench or removable handle. The device is compact in size, yet highly-visible and easy to use and made of durable polypropylene. Material: Durable Polypropylene Available in four sizes:
  • Size: 22mm Max Valve Stem Size
  • Size: 23mm - 35mm Max Valve Stem Size
  • Size: 44mm - 54mm Max Valve Stem Size
  • Size: 55mm - 63.5mm Max Valve Stem Size
Note that these size variations relate to the maximum dimension across the valve stem. Where the valve stem is square in profile (typical for plug valves), measure across the diagonal corners of the valve stem. Plug valves are very similar to ball valves in their appearance and function. But due to the design of the internal plug, effort required to turn the valve is often much higher than a ball valve. Sometimes the operating lever is removed from the valve during normal process operations. When need arises to turn the valve, the lever is placed over the valve stem. To ensure this is only done by authorised persons, and under strict operating conditions the lockout device can be fixed in place under a lockout procedure.
