Operating below-ground valves – a powerful solution

Valves which are located below ground can be troublesome when it comes to opening and closing operations. Especially if they are in public locations. The need to complete the task as quickly as possible is paramount.

Conventional ‘T’ Key arrangements are a partial solution but don’t take in to account the depth of the valve, or the amount of effort required to turn the valve. Such issues, if not considered can result in strain injury to the operator and a delay in completing the task.

A portable valve actuator can significantly speed up the operation but also significantly reduce the risk the operator(s) sustaining a strain injury.

Our new pneumatic portable valve drive tool from Modec is ideal for these applications. Supplied with an extended drive shaft to reach below ground, quickly attaching to the valve shaft, this kit allows the valve to be turned from waist height. The operating task can be quickly completed and the work area restored to normal status.
