Can Kab-O-Lok ™ be used with non-OEM cable?

One of the cable lockout devices we stock is the Kab-O-Lok ™ . It’s a very versatile device and suitable for locking off many different appliances including valve wheels and levers, electrical switchgear actuators etc.

The device incorporates a locking head which clamps the cable, the clamping tool, and a length of cable (2m, 5m or 10m long).

Today our customer asked if the device can be used with existing cable, 3mm diameter.

We tested this idea by threading a length of 2.5mm dia. stainless steel multi-strand cable through the Kab-O-Lok ™ .

The outcome? Tightening the head securely clamps the cable.

This is great news for the customer as it will reduce the cost outlay to acquire and use Kab-O-Lok ™
