Canal Rivers Trust choose Modec valve actuator from Total Lockout

We’ve been working with The Canal Rivers Trust recently and supplied a portable valve actuator for turning some large sluice gates on the River Weaver in Winnington, Cheshire.

The sluice gates are fitted with some fixed actuators, but provision is needed to turn the valves in the event of a power outage. A petrol motor actuator from Modec (PY68E-031) was used as it offered a good balance between speed and torque demands.

The customer requested additional guarding protection to ensure operators fingers couldn’t get close to the rotating shaft.

Total Lockout design and manufactured a sliding guard for this purpose.
