Turning penstocks with tractor PTO shafts

Some sluice gates and penstocks on the water and river networks of the UK have been modified to have a tractor-type PTO input drive shaft.

These can be troublesome to operate if you don’t have the correct actuators to hand.

Now Total Lockout can offer a special drive adaptor which can used in conjunction with a Modec portable valve actuator. It doesn’t matter which type of portable actuator you’re using, MC89 (battery power) or PY68 (petrol/gasoline motor), turning the valves is as easy as A,B,C.

They’re lightweight and very portable and there’s no risk of strain injury for the operator.
